Through this mixed-media piece, I wanted to capture the claustrophobic reality of a caged existence, yet heavily pulse it with the raw spirit of 'Woman, Life, Freedom.' The blue, ethereal figure at the top represents the stifled, melancholic state of women trapped within rigid, traditional walls, while the aggressive, dark brushstrokes cut across the canvas like the bars of an institutional prison. However, the true heart of this piece lies in the collage elements and that piercing, unblinking gaze torn open in the middle. By tearing through the layers of text—symbolizing the questions left unanswered and the forced narratives of society—this sharp pair of eyes stares directly at the viewer. It is the gaze of a witness who refuses to be erased, a silent but fierce declaration that even from within the confines of a cage, our vision, our life, and our demand for freedom cannot be contained.
